What's the difference between a personal and an organization plan?

Personal plans are meant for open source projects and do not support private docs or collaborators. Organization plans allow you to create private docs that are only accessibly by people in your team, as well as other features.

How does the 60-day money back guarantee work?

If within 60 days you are not 100% happy with Doctave, we will refund your subscription. No questions asked. Just reach out to our support team on support@doctave.com and we will process your refund and close your account.

How is Doctave different from a Wiki or a Corporate Knowledge Base?

Doctave builds your Markdown documentation directly from your source code. You don't have to context switch to another tool to update your docs - everything happens in your current developer workflow.

You can review docs changes in Pull Requests just like code, and everything is versioned along with your source code.

What's the difference between the open source Doctave CLI and Doctave.com?

The Doctave CLI is an open source documentation site generator. It is, and will always be, free to use. You can deploy the generated sites on your favorite static site hosting service.

Doctave.com is a specialized host for Doctave documentation sites. Beyond just hosting the documentation you get additional features, such as searching across all your projects, access control, visual diffs of your changes, and more.

If you have just one project you are looking to document, we suggest hosting your Doctave CLI generated docs on one of the many free hosting providers. If you have more projects and need features aimed at growing engineering teams, use Doctave.com.

What does it mean that you are in beta?

Doctave is currently in open beta. This means the product is ready to use and stable, but we have a long list of features we are working towards building, and we are working closely with customers to make sure the product is as good as it can be.

We dogfood Doctave actively and use it for our own documentation every single day.

Who can read my documentation?

Private documentation is only accessible by people in your organization.

Public projects will be visible to anyone with the URL. Even users without a Doctave acconut.
